Chosen among 800 participants, the pharmacy chain business unit of Maywufa Company Ltd. was the winner of the 16th Industry Technology Development Award---Service Innovation, sponsored by Ministry of Economic Affairs. The president of Maywufa, Mr. Fred Lai, was presented with the Award by Premier Liu in the evening on Oct. 3, preceded by a meeting during the day with President Ma.

To better serve local communities and to enhance overall competitiveness of local community pharmacies, Maywufa Company Ltd. implemented a new strategy for its pharmacy chain business unit and established its regional compound preparation centers to cooperate with major healthcare centers in different parts of the country. The compound centers prepare chronic disease prescriptions ordered by doctors at general hospitals in major cities and deliver such prescriptions through the network of Maywufa’s pharmacy chain stores. Residents in rural area are now better served close to their homes, thanks to the service platform constructed by the regional compound centers and the network of community pharmacies, the most professionally recognized pharmacy chain in the country. 

Other business units of Maywufa, including Hair/Skin Care Products unit and Pharmaceutical Sales & Marketing unit, are also achieving new milestones. The Hair/Skin Care Products unit has been the Gold Winner of Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Award since 2004 and is aiming China as its next target market for expansion. Pharmaceutical Sales & Marketing unit represents major international pharmaceutical companies in Taiwan. Popular new products, such as NorLevo, a contraceptive prescription drug, and BIO THREE are continuously being introduced into the market.
