PhytoHealth Begins Bioavailability / Pharmacokinetic Study of PHN021 (PCNH), a New Chemical Entity for the Prevention of Motion Sickness without Causing Drowsiness

PhytoHealth Corporation (4108.TWSE) announced today that after receiving Taiwan’s Department of Health (DOH) approval, it has begun the Bioavailability/ Pharmacokinetic Study of PHN021 (PCHN), a New Chemical Entity (NCE) for the prevention of motion sickness without causing drowsiness.

The Principal Investigator (PI) Meeting has been convened by Dr. Yaoh-Shiang Lin in Tri-Service General Hospital, and the Site initiation Visit (SIV) has also been completed recently. Healthy volunteers aged between 18 to 40 will soon be recruited for this study. 

The new drug candidate PHN021 (PCNH) is a Central Nervous System (CNS) drug preventing motion sickness without causing drowsiness. It is shown in the pre-clinical studies that PHN021 (PCNH) has the potential for the treatment of Parkinsonism, epilepsy, acute vertigo, or dizziness. PHN021 (PCNH) was approved and subsidized by the Industrial Technology Development Program (TDP). In addition, it is protected by patents in many different countries. The global market of CNS drug is estimated to be USD 3.4 billion according to market research reports.
