Maywufa Company Ltd., the pioneer member of Maywufa Biopharma Group (the Group), was established in 1976, as the sales and marketing agent for VO5 Shampoo series of products in Taiwan. The Group has since expanded to include eight member companies covering bio-medical and healthcare industries such as consumer products (hair and skin care), retail pharmacy chain, pharmaceutical sales, new drug development, health food (dietary supplement), dental pulp stem cell bank, etc.
The Group is a collection, from each related field, of top talents, who has in the last 30 years constructed an extensive pharmaceutical marketing and distribution network, as well as a technology platform upon which botanical new drugs are being developed.
Pharmaceutical Sales/Marketing & Distribution
The Group is operating the largest retail pharmacy chain in Taiwan and is the local partner for Novartis, Bristol Myers Squibb, Novo Nordisk, HRA, Expanscience, Hisamitsu, Zenyaku, Mariannebolle, Toa Seiyaku, Daiichi Sankyo, etc in Taiwan. The distribution network of the Group covers 500 hospitals, 3,000 clinics, 5,000 pharmacies, 198 regional distributors, and 7,380 groceries.
New Drug Development
On the new drug development side, the Group brings together modern biopharmaceutical technologies and the richness of centuries of Chinese herbal medicines to develop botanical new drugs and dietary supplements that help prolong and improve the quality of human lives. There are currently 8 new drug candidates under development, 3 of them in Phase II Clinical Trial filed with and approved by US FDA.
